I don't know how or why my dad had a rock like this. I don't believe it's found around these parts so maybe he aquired it for some project he had in mind.
This type of rock is typically called "Rose" quartz, even though this piece ius more of a lovely shade of lavender.
I checked Ebay to get some idea of how much it is worth. It appears that this is one of those rocks that is imported for sale in the US in large lots. Most of the sellers have sold hundreds. And the price they charge is usuallly around $15 - $20 per pound. That would make this one worth $60 - $70. Waaaay too much. I'm charging half that for this chunk.

You can save money on shipping by ordering several items together so you only pay one shipping chargel as long as all the rocks you select will fit into a USPS flat rate padded envelope.
