I'm new at listing garnets for sale but it's working. I said, "What he heck." (We say "heck" a lot in Utah.) I'll just do the same thing again.
You get these exact rocks!
The reason I'm doing it now is that one of my customers ("Miley") inspired me to write a blog essay about Idaho star garnets. Before that, I wasn't really sure how likely it would be for one of my dad's garnets to actually be a "star". I learned that it would be pretty likely ... IF you pick the right orientation to display the star when you cab the garnet.
Read the essay at:
Ken ordered a batch -- just about like these. Here's what Ken was able to
accomplish.
On the other hand, I know for a fact that at least some of the garnets are not star garnets. I gave some to a friend to facet. Some turned out to be beautiful, clear, transparent gems. And those do not display stars.
You Get The Exact Group of Garnets Pictured!
These crystals are not large. Cabbing the smaller ones would be a challenge. Instead, think of tumbling them and then glueing them into something. I made a tea tray out of very small tumbled agate and poured resin, for example. (The rocks in the tea tray are not garnets. This is just an idea to get you thinking about it.) You might try the same thing with drink coasters instead.
(I included the fancy cloth bag this time because that's what I will use to ship this particular batch.)
So ... Take a chance. See what you can do. Send pictures when you finish something. I'm always looking for customer experiences to write about.
