Johnathon -- who polishes his rocks right here in the Great State of Utah -- sent these pictures of my dad's Salina Canyon Wonderstone that he tumbled.
I think that Salina Canyon Wonderstone is one of the best rocks for tumbling. The result is smooth and round -- no pits and cracks like a lot of other rocks. The reason is that it's a rhyolite rock and just doesn't fracture like agate. Salina Canyon also features concentric spheres of color -- rather than just layers -- and many pieces feature a jet black center for contrast.
